Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

Cheesy garlic breadsticks are a delicious and comforting treat that pairs well with pasta dishes, soups, or enjoyed on their own as a snack. Here’s a simple recipe to make cheesy garlic breadsticks at home:

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • If using store-bought pizza dough, remove it from the packaging and let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to soften. If using homemade dough, prepare it according to the recipe instructions.
  1. Roll Out the Dough:
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  1. Prepare the Garlic Butter:
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, dried parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  1. Assemble the Breadsticks:
  • Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the surface of the rolled-out dough.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the garlic butter mixture.
  • Fold the dough in half lengthwise, enclosing the cheese filling, and press the edges to seal.
  1. Cut the Breadsticks:
  • Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide.
  1. Twist the Breadsticks:
  • Twist each strip of dough a few times to create a spiral pattern.
  1. Bake the Breadsticks:
  • Transfer the twisted breadsticks to the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each one.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the breadsticks.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  1. Serve:
  • Remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve the cheesy garlic breadsticks warm, optionally with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.

Enjoy these cheesy garlic breadsticks as a delicious appetizer, side dish, or snack! They’re perfect for sharing with family and friends.
